Prospect Stock Watch; Top 5 to Watch for Week 1

5. Grayson McCall | Coastal Carolina, QB

Coastal Carolina vs. Army | 7pm ESPN+ – Conway, SC

McCall has done nothing but produce throughout his career at Coastal Carolina, but one of the biggest knocks against him is the level of competition that he has faced. Despite out-dualing the No. 2 pick, Zach Wilson, a couple of ago, that statement is pretty much spot on. He opens up the season against one of the most productive edge rushers in the nation, Andre Carter II, so we will get to see McCall’s quick release against a true NFL prospect.

4. Kelee Ringo | Georgia, CB

#3 Georgia vs #11 Oregon | 3:30pm ABC – Atlanta, GA

Kelee Ringo has deservedly gotten a lot of hype following a wonderful postseason, but now faces former SEC foe Bo Nix to open up the season. Ringo should shine against the Duck offense that brings three brand new starters at WR.

3. Brandon Joseph | Notre Dame, S

#5 Notre Dame @ #2 Ohio State | 7:30 pm ABC – Columbus, Ohio

Brandon Joseph is a prospect that is flying a bit under the radar, but was one of the most talented defensive backs for the Northwestern Wildcats for the last two seasons with 9 interceptions and 15 passes deflected. I am eager to see how Joseph performs for the Fighting Irish and there is no better test than Ohio State’s offense.

2. C.J. Stroud | Ohio State, QB

#5 Notre Dame @ #2 Ohio State | 7:30 pm ABC – Columbus, Ohio

Stroud finished last season on a hot note, throwing for 6 TDs and 573 yards against Utah in the Rose Bowl. Can he start the season where he left off last year? Stroud is our QB1 and we can’t wait to see how he performs against one of the better defenses that he will face this year.

1. Noah Sewell | Oregon, LB

#3 Georgia vs #11 Oregon | 3:30pm ABC – Atlanta, GA

Sewell had a big sophomore season for the Ducks and finished the year with 114 tackles, 4 sacks and 2 forced fumbles. He now sits in a similar position that his older brother, Penei, once sat entering his third year at Oregon, with the only difference being that Noah will actually be stepping foot on the football field. Georgia lost a ton of firepower on offense, but they return Brock Bowers. The top TE in all of college football should be a solid matchup for Noah Sewell and one that every NFL scout will be paying extra attention to.
